A native of Montreal, NVLA president and designer Debra Hayburn embarked on a 20-year career in fashion that would take her around the world, including time spent sourcing and designing garments in India and Asia. The impact of these influences on her fashion sense and creative vision would be the creative force behind the NVLA brand.

Envious of her lifestyle in sunny southern California and stylish LA, Debra's friends north of the border would become the inspiration for the NVLA brand name: "Envy LA!". NVLA was founded in 2002 and it has since developed and diversified into both branded and private label sweaters.

Debra's love of luxury items that are urban-inspired and priced to appeal to a wide audience are the core of the NVLA brand. The sweaters are made exclusively in Hong Kong using a vintage wash on super soft 100% cashmere. Great care and attention are paid to detail and quality.

The Laguna Beach lifestyle has a huge influence on every design. The styles are casual, urban hip, yet Zen with Asian & Indian influences which lend the NVLA collection a distinct look. The NVLA collection can now be found in more than 150 high-end boutiques across the United States.
